Multi Energy Water Cylinder
Large or remote homes can benefit from more water heating flexibility. A multi energy source hot water cylinder can draw heat from heat pumps, boilers, solar water heaters, and wetback fires.
The Heart of a Stately Home
Multi energy source hot water cylinders are becoming more common in large new homes and off-grid homes alike. Put most simply, they treat a large hot water cylinder like a battery or storage device for heat. They solve the problem of integrating many different energy systems for heating your home’s hot water, pool water heating, hydronic underfloor heating and radiator heating.
With multiple connections and heat exchanger coils inside the hot water cylinder, it transfers heat from a range of sources to a range of outputs. Solar hot water heating arrays, gas boilers, solid fuel or wood boilers, large wetback fireplaces, hot water bore heat exchangers and hot water heat pumps (HPHW) are among the many possible inputs to these systems.
Large home versions often have capacities of 500 litres, and in some cases 1000 litres. Smaller versions are available for linking wetback fireplace water heating systems with solar water heating systems.
