Performing a good gas installation starts with the gas meter or LPG bottles. They need to be in a compliant and legal location to satisfy Gas Code NZS 5601 requirements. This is important as it will have the home insurances coverage, and also from a safety perspective.
We require the correct flow rate to the various gas appliances, so we calculate the correct pressures required and the correct pipe sizing through property to ensure all installed gas equipment or appliances can operate at the same time. Sounds easy but it is a skill often overlooked.
The single largest gas installation we have undertaken was earlier this year with 3490mj/hr being sent into a commercial laundromat at 7kpa pressure this equates to 966kw/hr. As a comparison your hot water cylinder will Use 3k/hr and your whole home may peak at 12 or 15kw/hr if you have all the heat pumps going. As a result gasfitters on the whole are a cautious bunch and go around spouting regulation and test themselves constantly with regulations always at forefront of mind.
As a Certifying and Craftsmen Gasfitter we are self-certifying over all installations. When we arrive onsite we can only do what is legal and compliant, all aspects of the job need to be checked and done to measurement and The Gas Code.
When we come to your property we want you to rest assured you are good hands and that many years of training have got us to this point. We work with recognised and quality brands. We will often work with Kembla Pexal or copper pipework to give a better job when required. It does sometimes cost more but certain environments will require it such as commercial kitchens, sometimes is also for aesthetics if the pipework is to be exposed.
If you wish to upgrade your gas in home or property or business please consider us as your experienced gasfitter to do the project.
